Floor repair

To heat the floor, two of the most common options are used – water heating and electric warm floor. We will consider in more detail the second option, as a simpler, practical, does not require laborious and costly installation of pipes with their connection to heating networks. All work will be only in laying a heating cable and connecting it to power supply. The convenience of electric heating is the ability to adjust the temperature, set the specific heating time of the floor (if you, for example, have left work and want to have warmly in your arrival in the house).

Heating cables are divided into two types of work type – resistive and self -regulating. In a resistive cable, a heating element is a vein with increased resistance, when passing through which the current releases thermal energy. A resistive cable can have both one (current flows in one direction, forming an electromagnetic field), and two veins (the current passes in different directions and the fields compensate each other), and they have a significant minus – when the cable is overheated, it fails. Self -regulating cable as a heating element uses a polymer matrix. When overheating in one section, the current strength in it occurs, when the work continues in other areas.

When you purchase a cable, decide on the production capacity of the warm floor system. Tentatively recommend the following parameters: bedrooms, corridors, kitchens – up to 150 W/sq. m., balcony – 200 W/sq. m. In the toilet and bathroom, making a warm floor is not always rational, t. To. These premises are inside the apartment and do not have the outer wall. For example, if your bedroom is 15kv. m., then 150*15 = 2250W – you need to choose a cable of approximately the same power.

The installation of the heating cable is carried out on the aligned surface, it does not matter how you will do this – parallel lines or spiral. For laying the cable, a mounting tape is used, a step of the strip of the tape is about 50cm. After connecting the cable to all the elements of the system (temperature sensor, thermostat), it is necessary to check its work before pouring the screed in order to avoid the possible dismantling of the screed with a malfunction of the elements of the warm floor. To monitor the system, we recommend using programmable thermostats.

After setting up the system, you can start filling the screed. Its thickness will be approximately 5 cm, and the final floor is arranged on top of it.
