The staircase not only “binds” the house vertically, but often serves the link between generations: if it is made efficiently, it will last many decades. Especially if your staircase is forged: metal is one of the most durable materials, moreover, it is universal stylistically. Therefore, the choice of the design of the stairs and the company that will install it will need to be approached especially carefully.
The first step.
It is best to plan what a staircase will be at the stage of designing a house. Then the craftsmen will not have to enter it into the most suitable space, and the installation of metal structures is difficult to carry out in a finished interior. The “appearance” of the stairs depends, firstly, on the style decision of the house itself, and secondly, on its area. So, for example, a wide multi -mass staircase is unlikely to fit in a small room, but the screw will have to be very helpful. True, experts note that technically spiral stairs are the most difficult.
Remember that the cooler the staircase rises, the less space it will occupy, but it can be more difficult to climb it. If the angle of lifting the stairs is above 26-32º, then the structure of the steps, which is called “butterfly”, can help out the design of the steps. The protruding parts of such steps create mini-sites for each step. If, looking from above, each pair of such steps resembles a butterfly wings.
The first few steps from below can be wider, and possibly a different shape than the rest (race steps). It will be interesting to look like a staircase with curved (completely or partially) Marts. But the technical solution of such a staircase is only a very qualified master.
Difficult choice.
The main question is for the one who decided to install a forged staircase or fence in his house – what kind of forging is preferred? Both hot and cold forging have its advantages.
In the first case, the customer receives a unique author’s work. Moreover, some elements (and even stylistic solutions) can be created only with hot forging.
Cold forging, or flexion of metal, also have a number of advantages. Since in this case we are dealing with a kind of “designer”, in which the metal structure is assembled from ready -made materials, then less labor costs less. It means that both the execution time and its cost are reduced. Modern equipment, for example, Hebo, allows you to achieve the identity of all elements and textures, which the blacksmith can always achieve with the help of manual forging. In addition, the variety of “designer” (the equipment does not allow the use of more than a hundred elements) practically does not limit the creative thought.
Both types of forging have the main vulnerable moment – painting. Especially – this is relevant for external stairs subject to the influence of our difficult climate. During welding, the paint is burned, and some places, for example, under the clamps, after installation are almost impossible to paint.
A few tips.
Do not choose the cheapest option!
The appearance of the stairs directly depends on its cost.
And do not rush – the fastest you can collect the simplest, which means an uninteresting staircase.
