Working with wood is a very complex process that requires certain skills, therefore, when laying a floor on the floor, we will immediately give a recommendation – use the skills of professional masters so as not to be upset as a result. However, if you decide to do everything with your own hands, due to various circumstances (lack of funds, the desire to learn how to carry out repair work yourself) – we will try to give several useful tips.
Parquet laying begins after a qualitatively prepared base – it should be dry, even and clean. As a rule, a black screed from a cement-sand mortar is performed directly on the floor plate, 50-60mm thick (more difficult and expensive, not technologically advanced, the screed is cracking and bursting). Of course, no one will give a guarantee of a perfectly flat floor, this rule is physically impossible, but the maximum deviation from a level of 1mm per 1 mm of the coating length is allowed. With such a difference in height, small deviations will not be noticeable to you.
A layer of waterproofing is laid along a dried screed that prevents the effect of concrete moisture on the parquet board. Next, a continuous flooring is arranged, made, most often, from moisture-resistant plywood, the thickness of which is accepted about 10-12cm. The plywood is attached to the already dried screed, using self -tapping screws with dowels, and the parquet board is pinned to it on the mounting nails in the “locks”, or glued to a special glue. The plywood should be laid squares, the sizes of squares of 500x500mm – this is done to compensate for possible deformations of sheets due to their walking, a possible increase due to the increased humidity. Follow technological breaks – about 3 days after laying plywood in the installation position. At the same time, bring the parquet board to the object and let it lie down the same 3 days in the necessary moist-temperature mode. The parquet laying itself is performed either by fastening the boards on nails, or on the adhesive composition. Nails are clogged into the “locks” so that the attachment hats are not visible. After installing the parquet, they proceed to its grinding, for which special equipment is used: grinding machines, cycles. After grinding, the parquet begins to varnish, for this they apply one layer of varnish for priming the surface, after which the varnish is applied in a few more layers, more often 2-3 layers.
And yet, once again we remind – the process of laying parquet on the floor is very laborious, so it is better to trust it to professionals.
