It would seem why you need to install a warm floor if there are batteries? Only so that you can walk in winter without slippers? And we are surprised that for this small advantage people pay big money. It turns out that everything is much more complicated. Let’s try to figure out how to choose a warm floor for an apartment.
The fact is that the batteries in full accordance with the laws of physics direct the air heated to the narrowly limited area of the radiator strictly upward, after which the narrow and hot flow of air rises to the ceiling, slides along it, and gradually cooling down, drops down. The temperature difference between a rather hot (more than 60 degrees) battery and relatively cold air leads to the formation of drafts and constant convective flows. In addition to the fact that excess energy is spent, dust will travel along with these flows, and ate there is a pet, then its wool. As a result, the picture familiar to everyone, the ceiling is warm, and near the floor is cold. Naturally, in order for all the air in the house in this way, you need to spend a lot of energy for which you pay a lot. And if the volume of the room is large, you will not be able to completely heat it.
Another thing is a warm floor system – the air heated, of course, also rises upward, but thanks to a large area and low heating temperatures, convective flows do not form, and heat rises from below, where people who need this warmth go. Therefore, the energy is not spent on what is not spent on what, but it heats up the living area (we do not live on the ceiling), which means that direct savings of funds are obtained (as practice shows, about 12 %), and the higher the ceiling, the more the figure of savings is more.
And the warm floor is also convenient in that you can accurately set a comfortable temperature for you, which will be constantly maintained. As a rule, the entire area of the floor is heated. And in places where heating is not needed (furniture, equipment), you can simply not install heating elements.
Probably many are interested in the question: how much the warm floor will last? It is safe to say that more than half a century, regardless of which warranty period is indicated in its technical documentation. So, a warm floor is an opportunity to live in comfort, comfort and save that at annually rising energy prices is of no small importance.
