In the modern world, an arch is rather a designer technique, not an architectural element. It is used more and more to decorate the room and give it an exclusive type. For manufacturing, a very convenient material is drywall. It is possible to create an arch of any complexity with your own hands, with the desired bend, shelves, backlight and niches.
To create an arch from drywall on your own, you do not even need the repair of all the living space. The material is especially good because it easily takes the necessary shape when getting wet, as it becomes plastic. And after all this dries, the form does not change, that is, you get the right bend.
First of all, you need marking. The desired bend is visually determined. For this, they use, for example, a piece of plastic. We smoothly bend and pretend, and as soon as we finally determined the outlines and edges – we make markings.
After that, the vertical and horizontal guides from the metal profile are inserted into the doorway. One on top and two on the sides. Side profiles are mounted to the tributaries made from the upper corner. Drywall sheets should be attached to the wall with a wall. They are fastened with self -tapping screws or dowels.
Cut the gypsum -plane triangle apply and mark the rounding. You can use the same piece of bending plastic to outline the line. We cut out a semicircle with an electrician. In the same way we get the second semicircle. We fix both on profiles on both sides. Naturally, they should be the same.
Then, using the bends of the template, set and fix the arched profile. After that, a strip of one width with an arch is cut out of drywall, the needle -shaped roller is perforated and moistened with water. After that, the strip will not break, but bend. Arched drywall and needle roller are optional, although convenient. We take a sheet of drywall and make the strips through every 2 cm (knife).
Flow the sheet to the profile. We begin to do this from the middle of the arch, using self -tapping screws 2, 5 cm long, interval – 2-5 cm.
Arc from drywall is mounted with your own hands. You need to let it dry for at least a day, and then you can start finishing.
