How the coast is strengthened – the main methods

by 360roomsnews

If active construction begins in the immediate vicinity of the coastal zone, this sometimes leads to the partial destruction of the coastline. If you do not produce its fortifications, water can spill, flooding the entire nearby area. A detective agency, if you go there, will be able to find out which of the builders entered such a misfortune, but it is better not to allow the destruction of the coast from the beginning.

Methods of strengthening the coast

Engineers offer several methods for carrying out such work. Each of the methods involves the use of a certain technology. What methodology to prefer – depends on each specific case. Apply the following methods:

the use of cementogront;

creation of retaining walls;

use of gabion – varieties of retaining walls.

All these options allow you to stop soil processes, make the shore more durable, and at the same time, if necessary, prevent wastewater from entering clean water.

What is a cement -group

The basis is the usual coastal soil, to which clay is added. Such a composition is already able to give the soil the necessary viscosity. Then Portland cement is added to the soil. As a result, a plastic mass forms, which begin to be applied on the spot. Laying is on layers, the thickness of each layer is about 30 centimeters. Such soil can be considered environmentally friendly, the cement content in it is no more than 10 – 12 percent.

Typically, a cementhront is formed using mobile stations. The process of strengthening the coast is due to this quickly and with small labor costs.

What function do retaining walls perform

Such devices do not allow the shore to settle and blur. The foundation for walls are ordinary piles or special structures in the form of gratings. The height of the walls can reach a meter if the soil in this place is too loose and mobile. With the help of retaining walls, they often carry out a vertical layout along the shore line.

What is characterized by the strengthening of the coast by Gabion

Gabion is a design in the form of a box, the walls of which are made of a strong mesh covered with zinc. The grid is a twisted wire. Section forms from such boxes. Each section is first covered with large stones, then the voids between them are filled with small soil. Subsequently, plants will be able to grow in this soil, due to which the strengthening of the coast by the Gabion method over time becomes almost invisible.
