Consider another stage during cosmetic repairs. This step is the ceiling decoration. The most common and simple method of ceiling finishing is plastering. Before starting the design of the ceiling, it is necessary to correctly prepare it: plastered, or put in order the old plaster. Compared to the cosmetic repair of the wall, it is much more difficult to finish the ceiling.

Therefore, if you have very little experience in plastering the ceiling, it is better not to take this type of finish. And seek help from a specialist. When decorating ceilings, it is mainly necessary to use the wall decoration manual since these are very similar types of repair.

To improve the clutch of plaster with the base of the ceiling, you need to add a little gypsum. But it is important to remember that a solution for plastering of the ceilings should be much more elastic than a solution for plastering walls, this is necessary in order to fill all the smallest voids on the basis.

After the first layer of plaster has grasped, it will be possible to apply the next layer, in the same sequence. The plaster layer itself consists of three more layers: spray, soil and cover.

Spray is the very first applied plaster layer. Applied with a thickness of 2 to 5 millimeters. Further, a layer called soil is the second applied plaster layer. It is applied with a thickness of 70-85 millimeters, but it is applied with such thickness only on condition that the solution includes gypsum, and if gypsum is not part of the solution, then the layer is applied with a thickness of 95 to 125 millimeters.

Covering is the third applied plaster layer. Applied up to 3 millimeters thick. Each of these layers is applied alternately one by one, but only on condition that the previous layer is already dry. Typically, to dry one layer with a gypsum content in the solution, you need a little time: about 6-15 minutes, and cement solutions dry for several hours, somewhere from 2-5 hours. The layer is considered dried if it is slightly whitewashed.

And it is important to remember that before plastering the ceiling must be moistened abundantly with water. And as soon as the water is absorbed first, then the soil is applied and applied with the third layer, everything is sequentially.
